Bosch 4100XC-10 Table Saw Review

The Bosch 4100XC-10 is a popular table saw that many people have rated highly. Bosch is another woodworking brand that produces quality products.

In this article, I will go over what the pros and cons of the Bosch 4100XC-10 Table Saw are, and help you determine if it’s a good fit for the shop!

Bosch 4100XC-10 Table Saw Features

This saw’s tabletop comes in at 30 x 22-1/2 inches. This is a solid size for cutting large boards and wood stock.

You won’t have any trouble sliding big boards over the top as it’s made of aluminum that is very smooth for the wood to go over.

Sizable Table

You can be sure you won’t run out of working space using the BOSCH 4100XC-10. That’s because it’s broad 30 in. x 22-1/2 in. table was built for plus-sized woodworking jobs.

You can also be certain that your cuts will always come out perfectly straight on this table saw.

To make this happen, you can always utilize this model’s 3/8 x 3/4-inch T-slot miter gauge.

Square Lock Rip Fence

A square lock rip fence is another selling point for this saw. It’s easy to set positions and can be slid down or up the rail for easy adjustments.

Cutting accuracy is greatly increased because of this feature, and we all know how important it is to measure twice and cut once.

It should be noted, though, that the miter gauge takes a little bit more practice to get right, although you can always buy a new miter gauge if you don’t like the included one.

3650 RPM Motor

The motor is a 15 amp electric one that can rotate at 3650 RPM. It generates 4 HP and uses a 10-inch blade, which can be changed easily, thanks to an arbor lock.

Rip Capacity

The rip capacity comes in at 30 inches, which should be good for cutting most wood up to 4 inches thick.

If that isn’t enough for you, then you can even buy an extension to rip even bigger boards.

Bosch 4100XC-10 Smart Guard System

For safety, this model has what is called the “smart guard system.” This is a system that has a blade guard with anti-kickback pawls and a riving knife.

These are detachable without any tools needed for added convenience when doing fast blade changes.

The aluminum guard is split in the middle so that you can easily see the measurement marks.

The riving knife does an excellent job at preventing kickback as it digs in and stops the wood dead in its tracks, preventing some painful injuries.

Plywood and pine stand no chance against the 40 tooth blade that is made of carbide. It can rip other types of wood, too, of course, just at a little slower rate.

One of my favorite features with this Bosch table saw has to be the gravity rise stand. It enables the unit to collapse and be set up with just a lever.

It’s also easy to move the saw around with the two wheels and the stand, which is also used as handles during transportation.

The total dimensions of the product are 32.5″ D x 27″ L x 13″ H, making it fairly compact.

Dado Blade Capability

This model can also accept 13 to 16-inch dado blades, using the Bosch TS1007 Dado Insert attachment.

This makes it ideal for woodworkers who regularly make dado cuts near an inch in size.

What We Like

  • Anti-kickback smart guard also enables easy blade changes
  • Strong 40 tooth carbide blade
  • Gravity rise stand for easy setup and takedown
  • Wheels and built-in handle for transport
  • Powerful 3650 rpm motor
  • Smart storage hangar area for blades and accessories

What We Don’t Like

  • The price might be a bit high for some, although a good investment in the long run.
  • Harder to lift into position than you’d think it would be. This thing’s kinda heavy!

Wrapping it Up

Overall this is a great option from Bosch, and there aren’t very many negatives. The smart guard system and gravity rise stand to make it a candidate for the best portable table saw.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone in the market for a solid table saw!
